London, ON - The Western Mustangs Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 18 are Jonelle Clarke & Zachary Ortencio of the Wrestling team.

Clarke turned in a dominant showing at the Western Open, capturing gold at 65 kg with a dominant 4–0 record. She controlled the field with three victories by technical superiority and capped off her day with a decisive pin in the final match. Jonelle's gold-medal performance was instrumental in leading the Western Women's Team to a first-place team finish, while also contributing to Western securing first place in the overall combined team standings.

Ortencio delivered an outstanding performance at the Western Open this weekend, capturing the gold medal at 68 kg with a dominant 4–0 record. He won every match by technical superiority, outscoring his opponents 46–3 margin. Zachary's gold helped lead the Western Men's Wrestling Team to a second-place team finish. His performance was also a major factor in Western securing first place in the overall combined team standings.
