Michelle has been coaching field hockey for over ten years and earned her FIH coaching levels 1 and 2 while playing in Melbourne, Australia. She has since coached a wide range of levels and various teams throughout Canada, USA, France, and the United Kingdom.
Michelle began playing field hockey at Medway High School in Arva, Ontario at the age of 14. At the age of 15, she began competing at the provincial level, where she represented Ontario in both indoor and outdoor field hockey from 2003-2012. In 2005, she won bronze at the Canada Summer Games and was named the National Indoor Field Hockey MVP that year.
As a former Western University student, Michelle played five seasons on the Mustang’s field hockey squad while completing a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. She was named Western Mustangs Field hockey Rookie of the Year in her first season and took on the captaincy of the team the following season. In the off-season, Weber travelled to Melbourne, Australia where she played for the Footscray Hockey Club. Throughout her career at Western, Weber was a three-time CIS First Team All-Canadian and four-time OUA First Team All-Star. In her final season with the Mustangs, Michelle was awarded the UWO Athletic Purple Blanket award.
Following her graduation from Western, Michelle relocated to Vancouver, B.C. to play on the Canadian National Women’s Field Hockey Team, where she competed internationally for over three years. She then played professionally in the French league for Villa Primrose in Bordeaux, France. Michelle accepted a field hockey scholarship in Northern Ireland where she represented The University of Ulster Elks for two seasons.
Through her experience both playing and coaching, along with her passion for field hockey, Michelle has developed a comprehensive understanding for the sport and enjoys developing the skills of individual athletes and the performance of the collective team.
