The Western Mustangs women's volleyball team got back on track this weekend winning 3-1 against Laurier and Waterloo.
On Friday evening the Mustangs started quick winning the first two sets 25-18 and 26-24. They dropped the third 25-13 before regrouping to win the fourth set 25-14.
Western's attack was led by
Elaine Screaton, who had nine kills, one ace and nine digs. Kelly Frittenberg patrolled the net getting seven kills and six blocking assists.
The Mustangs started quick in their Saturday matchup against the Waterloo Warriors as well winning 25-16 and 25-23. Western dropped the third set 25-23 before picking up the win in the fourth set by a score of 25-18.
Screaton and Frittenberg continued their hot play with Screaton getting 16 kills, one solo block and two aces. Frittenberg filled up the stat sheet with eight kills, five aces, two solo and three assisted blocks and seven digs.
The Mustangs improve to 4-2 on the season and sit in fourth place in the OUA West. They will host Brock on Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at Alumni Hall in their last game before the new year.
