The Mustangs knew they could give the Gee-Gees a run for their money and turned the second set into a point for point affair, forcing the game into excess to finally top the Gee-Gees in a close 26-24.

The Mustangs headed into the third set with confidence but that didn’t last for long as the Gee-Gees trumped Western’s point attempts taking the third set with a solid 25-18 score.
