The National Champion Mustangs (2-0) open their home season this weekend (Sept 14-16) with three doubleheaders (vs Laurier on Friday at 5pm, vs Carleton on Saturday at 2pm, and vs Ottawa on Sunday at noon). 

Coming off two victories in Windsor last Sunday (2-0; 9-2), the Mustangs have their sights set on another Championship season in '12.  Further, Western will attempt to extend its regular season win streak which dates back to September 21, 2008.  Certainly this weekend the games will be challeging because Ottawa and Laurier are strong perenially (finished second and third behind the Mustangs last season) and Carleton is rebuilding.  Returning a strong nucleus and bolstered with a quality first year class, the Mustangs are ready for the challenge. 

Sunday is the Community League Softball - Mustang Day so if you're a youth ball player get your team jersey on, wear your running shoes, and be ready for lots of activities/contests between innings and games.  There will also be an opportunity to meet the Mustangs.
