The Mustangs return to the court after a break in their schedule for a rematch against the Windsor Lancers, whom they previously defeated in four sets earlier this season. Looking re-establish dominance over the Lancers, the Mustangs also hope to improve their current 3-6 season record.

Despite being a rookie-heavy team with seven first year players, the Mustangs have proven to be a resilient. Often coming back from point deficits to challenge more experienced teams, Western continues to prove that age is not representative of talent. Currently tied for fourth in OUA West, Western averages 11.14 kills per set, with a .333 hitting percentage, 2.03 blocks per set and 14.11 digs per set .

Kelsey Veltman continues to lead the Mustangs in total points, averaging 3.6 per set, followed by
Taylor Beedie and
Laura Lytwynec who each record an average 2.4 points per set. Veltman also leads the CIS in solo blocks (21) while ranking sixth in hitting percentage (.337).

Windsor – currently tied with the Mustangs for fourth place in OUA West – hope to use Friday's game to even the score and make up for the loss to Western earlier in the season.

In his second year with the team, head coach Lucas Hodgson has relied on a mix of new and old talent to guide the Lancers through the season, with five rookies added to the roster. Andrea Jones, a graduate of Medway High School, is among the group of fresh faces on this year's team and has already made a large impact. As a setter for the Lancers, Jones has averaged 9.79 assists per set and is expected to continue to be an important member of the team.

As a team, Windsor averages 10.74 kills per set – with a 1.43 hitting percentage – 1.92 blocks per set, and 15.77 digs per set.

Junior Shannon Dean leads the charge for Windsor, averaging 3.8 points per game while also ranking 12
th in the CIS for solo blocks (13). Hannah Robson and Richelle Brown follow with 2.8 and 2.2 points per set, respectively.
