HAMILTON, Ont. - After a first half that had the Mustangs down at the hands of the Marauders, Vanessa Guglietti found the back of the McMaster net to even the score and earn a 1-1 draw.  
Mustang goalie Megan Girardi saw little traffic in the first half, with only two shots coming from the Marauders. Things were even lighter down in the Marauder net for Deanna Persico who saw only one shot from the Mustangs.

The scoreboard remained blank for most of the first half, until Anne Yeboah lined up at the 12-yard mark to give McMaster a one-goal advantage. 

Returning to the field for the second half, the Mustangs put more pressure on the maroon defence. Persico was faced with three shots from Western, but only managed to get her hands on two. 

Guglietti scored the equalizer at the 74-minute mark after a through ball from striker Amy Lintack got past Persico. Her tally would be the last of the game, as the Mustangs soon closed out their season opener with a 1-1 draw.

The Mustangs are back on the field tomorrow afternoon, when they take on the Brock Badgers at Mustangs Field. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
