Track & Field star Kate Current named 2020 Female Athlete of the Year

Track & Field and Cross Country all-star Kate Current has been named the Western Mustangs 2020 Female Athlete of the Year. 

The Female Athlete of the Year Award is presented annually to a female student athlete who has achieved outstanding success representing Western at the provincial and/or national level in the current Intercollegiate season. With a silver medal in women's 1500m run from the U Sports Track & Field Championship, a pair of golds from the OUA Championship, and the Dr. Wendy Jerome Trophy for being an Outstanding Female Performer, Kate's Track season will be one to remember. At the U Sports National Championship for Cross Country, Kate finished 5th overall in a field of 156 runners and walked away with the title of First Team All-Canadians while earning her spot on the Canadian roster for the 2020 FISU World University Championship.
