London, ON – It was a busy day at the Western Tennis Center for the OUA Regional Qualifier "A" as the Mustangs took on Brock & McMaster.
The morning session saw the Mustangs take on McMaster. On the women's side the Mustangs teams of Justine Bryson & Camille Duggal beat McMaster's Audrey Yeung & Maia Mureseanu 8-3, Western's Leanna Carpino & Dani Todorov topped Eva Feddema & Anjal Chauhan by the same 8-3 score while Carley Ciitron & Angela Chen bested Adele Lee & Julia Schuster by an 8-2 score for a Mustangs clean sweep of the doubles action and take the team point.
In singles action the Mustangs took all six matches. Justin Bryson beat Eva Feddema (6-0, 6-1), Cammile Duggal needed three sets to get passed Maia Mureseanu (6-2, 3-6, 6-0) while Carley Citron, Angela Chen and Leanna Carpino beat Julia Schuster, Ana Kunovac and Adele Lee respectively in two sets while Paige Bayham finished off Mena Shaheed (8-0).
The final on the morning session saw the Mustangs take a 7-0 final and looked to continue the momentum into the afternoon session.

On the men's side of the morning, The Mustangs Matt Oliver & Ron Singer beat McMasters's Poorshad Afshar & Dhruv Sharma (8-3) while the other two Mustangs teams of Shane Bulitka & Matt Meuller and Basil Leahy & Aidan Sarnese won 8-2 over McMaster's Nolan Kool & Adrian Posnag and Shiva Murali & Amaan Khakani to secure the doubles point.
In singles, the Mustangs took their matches in two sets with Matt Oliver, Ashton Lawson, Matt Meuller, Lawson Cross & Ethan Milavsky all picking up wins while McMaster's Poorshad Afshar topped Western's Ron Singer in three sets. (6-2, 5-7, 4-6).
Western would take the overall points win though at 6-1.

Western vs. Brock
In the Afternoon it was the Brock Badgers coming into the Western Tennis Centre to take on the host Western Mustangs.
Western would take all three matches including 8-0 clean sweeps by Carley Ciitron & Angela Chen and Leanna Carpino & Dani Todorov, while Justine Bryson & Camille Duggal took their match 8-2.
The Mustangs would get the better of the Badgers in the singles sessions as well, with Carley Ciitron, Angela Chen and Paige Bayham winning in two sets while Abby Currie & Riya Kaur won 8-1. Liana Biktimiova of the Badgers took the lone point for her side as she beat Camille Duggal 8-4.
The Mustangs took the overall points by a 6-1 score.

On the men's side, The Badgers team of Alex Cristiano & Pavlo Dyak gave the Mustangs Lawson Cross & Ethan Milavsky the toughest test of the doubles session but were topped 8-4 by Western while Ashton Cross & Christian Krustev and Matt Meuller & Shane Bulitka finished out the clean sweep for the Mustangs in double action and took the single point.
In singles, it was another clean sweep for the Mustangs as Matt Oliver, Ron Singer and Ashton Lawson won in two sets while Shane Bulitka, Wilson Boyle and Thomas Hartloper won in one set to secure all six singles points.
Western took the afternoon session 7-0.

Day 2 of the OUA Regional A Qualifier goes Sunday morning starting at noon as McMaster takes on Brock at the Western Tennis Centre, the winner of the weekend will serve as host of the OUA Championship coming up on Oct. 23 taking on the winner of the OUA Regional B Qualifier being hosted by the Toronto Varsity Blues.
