London, ON - He was a two-time Hec Crighton award winner (U SPORTS Football Player of the Year) with the Mustangs Football program and today Tim Tindale was announced as one of the next inductees into The Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

"I didn't even think I was eligible," said Tindale "So it kind of caught me off guard, I was aware that Marv Levy was in this year. So that's quite special and you know to be included with the likes of him is amazing."

Tindale, a native of London, tallied 2,554 yards (7.9 yards per carry) and 36 all-purpose touchdowns in his years (1990-1994) with the Mustangs. He was twice named a first-team All-Canadian (1991 and 1993) as well as the Most Outstanding Male University Athlete in 1993-94.

After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, Tindale went to Buffalo Bills training camp as a free agent and ended up making the team and playing four seasons in the NFL, playing a total of 37 games. 

Tindale credits former Mustangs Head Coach Larry Haylor as being one of the most influential figures in his football career.

"Larry (Haylor) has got to be right up there with the best of them," said Tindale "You know how much time he spent with the details, and getting things right, practicing your footwork and just being professional and being you know a great leader, so I would say that Larry probably as a coach had the best or the most impact."

Tindale joins four other players and three builders in the Class of 2022 entering the Canadian Football Hall of Fame this year. The members of the Class of 2022 will be officially inducted on the evening of September 16 at Tim Hortons Field, and they will also be honoured the following day at halftime of the Hall of Game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers & Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
