SEASON RECAP:
Three members of the Women's Rugby squash were named OUA All-Stars while Ramiro Wentzel was named OUA Men's Rugby Rookie of the Year in 2023.

The Women's team posted a second consecutive 4-2 regular season in the fall of 2023. The Mustangs posted some big scores including a 94-7 win over York & 60-0 win over Laurier.
In the playoffs Western opened with a 53-0 win over Laurier but feel to the powerhouse Queen's Gaels in the semi-finals

A trio of Mustangs were recognized as OUA All-Stars. Lauren Male was a First Team All-Star at Prop. Mika Hough was a Second Team All-Star at Back Three & Lizzie Schori was also a Second Team All-Star at Second Row.

On the Men's side, the Mustangs opened with a 72-7 win over Trent but had a couple of close losses to Laurier & Queen's and tied 24-24 with Brock. The Mustangs finished 1-4-1 this season.

Ramiro Wentzel was a spotlight for Western this season. He started the season on the practice squad but once he was called up to the varsity lineup he continued to impress. He showcased terrific leadership skills and a willingness to learn and was recognized as the OUA Men's Rugby Rookie of the Year. The Men's team also had three members recognized as OUA All-Stars,  Joel Abdel Barr (Hooker) & Garin Schroeder (Back Row) were named First Team All-Stars & Colin Rolph was a Second Team All-Star at Second Row.
