London, ON - The Mustangs Women's Rugby team dominated their 2024 home opener against York U Lions, winning 74 - 6 on Sunday afternoon.
The team scored 12 tries, with four coming from #15, Taylor MacDonald, a first year student at Western. MacDonald also scored six out of the seven conversions.
"Using this game as a next baseline every week to try and build on it for the last two games of the season." said MacDonald who totaled 32 points in the match.
The team completely controlled the first half, with a 50 metre mull resulting in a try. The second half was very similar to the first, with Western's defence giving little room for York to score.
After the game, Coach Josh Campbell said that the team is "feeling very confident, and building just how we want to," with two upcoming home games.
