Men's Squash dynasty continues as Mustangs win 41st consecutive OUA Championship

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON - For the 41st season in a row, the Western Mustangs are OUA Men's Squash Champions.

The Mustangs dynasty continued this weekend when Western dominated their way to the OUA championship banner, toppling the Waterloo Warriors 7-0 in the gold medal match.

"I think it's a bit of relief," said Mustangs Men's Head Coach Chris Hanebury. "Every year we win, so the guys feel a little bit of the pressure because its our 41st year in a row winning, and they don't want to be the team that loses the streak."

Western finished 5&0 for the event, which included 7-0 wins over the Warriors & McMaster Maraduers on Friday.

On Saturday the Mustangs finished out the round robin play with a 7-0 win over Brock and then topped the rival Queen's Gaels 7-0 in the semi-final.

Mustangs #1 Salaheldin Eltorgman was named OUA MVP for the second year in a row for his outstanding play, he was also named an OUA All-Star along with Daniel Deverill in the Major Awards presentation at the conclusion of the event.
