LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs women's rugby team responded to a rare regular-season loss with an exclamation point, crushing the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks 87-3 at Homecoming on Oct. 3 at the UWO Rugby Fields.

Martha Goodrow (Aurora, Ont.) scored 32 points on two tries and 11 converts, while Karen Harwood (London, Ont.) have five tries in the Western victory.

Laurie Biewald (Ottawa, Ont.) and Yvonne Kwan (Port Credit, Ont.) added two tries each, while Allie Walker (Ottawa, Ont.) and Monica Munro (New Glasgow, N.S.) had a try each.

Western (3-1) hosts defending OUA champions Guelph on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at the St. Georges Rugby Fields in their final regular season game. The playoffs begin on Saturday Oct. 17, concluding with the OUA championship on Oct. 31. 

The CIS Nationals will be hosted by the University of British Columbia Nov. 5-8.
