LONDON, Ont. – The Western Mustangs hosted the opening of the Men’s Squash West Sectional at Fanshawe College on Nov. 13-14.
The Mustangs remain undefeated, currently placed first with a perfect record.
Western took control from the beginning, beating Waterloo 6-0. The game was shortly followed by two similar wins against Brock and McMaster the next day.
The Brock Badgers were overwhelmed by Kimesh Chetty (Hamilton, Ont.), Ryan Herden (Vancouver, B.C.), Yeshale Chetty (Millgrove, Ont.), Andrew Silvestri (Oakville, Ont.), Tashlin Reddy (Hamilton, Ont.), and especially Joel Goulding (Fergus, Ont.), who kept his opponent scoreless until the third set.
Although the McMaster Marauders put up more of a fight, the Mustangs came out with a 6-0 win.
The result of the three matches have pushed McMaster to tie for second, Waterloo to tie for fourth and Brock to place last in the OUA standings, leaving Western with a 9-point lead against McGill and McMaster.
