The Western Mustangs field hockey team finishes in fourth spot in the OUA at 7-7, after a 2-0 loss in their regular season finale against Waterloo on Saturday.
The Mustangs will now compete in the OUA Championships next weekend at York, Oct. 29-31 as the No. 4 seed.
Western will open the OUA championships playing the host York Lions on Friday in the quarter-finals, with the winner will play first-place Guelph in the semifinals on Saturday. Game time on Friday will be at 12 p.m.
If the Mustangs win they will face Guelph at 12 p.m. on Saturday or barring a loss will appear in the consolation final on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
Western split the two meetings against the Lions this season, losing 3-2 and winning 2-1.
Guelph and the next two best OUA schools qualify for the 2010 CIS nationals, hosted by Guelph, Nov. 4-7.
