Anderson looks to move up in record books against Lakehead

Feb. 19 and 20: Western at Lakehead, 6 p.m.

LONDON, Ont. - While the Western Mustangs women's basketball team looks to close out their season with two wins against Lakehead in Thunder Bay, Ont., Feb. 19 and 20 at 6 p.m., Amanda Anderson(Chatham, Ont.) will also be looking to close in on second or third place in the OUA career points total.

This is Anderson’s fifth and final year as a Mustang and she is currently chasing second and third place for the OUA career points total. She currently sits in fourth overall after finishing Western’s last game against Waterloo Feb.13 with nine points, moving her to 1,592 career points overall. Jennifer Donofrio(RMC 2003-2008) holds the third place position with 1,602 and Jodie Ebeling (Brock 2002-2007) is second with 1,624. Cassandra Carpenter of Laurentian still holds the OUA record career points with 2,171 from 2003-2008.

The Mustangs clinched the second place overall position in the OUA West after a 76-66 win over Waterloo on Feb.13 which has earned them a bye from the quarter-finals and a bit of resting time before the OUA West semifinal which Western will host on Saturday Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. at Alumni Hall.

Both weekend games with Lakehead will be broadcast live on 102.7 CILU Radio, online at www.LURadio.ca and on video webcast on www.SSNCanada.ca. Zach White and Hugh Mullally will handle the call.
