Anderson moves into third place in career scoring in win over Lakehead

THUNDER BAY, Ont. - The Western Mustangs women's basketball squad reeled off its seventh straight win Friday night Feb. 19 downing Lakehead 67-51 to improve to 17-4 on the season as the team gears up for the post season.

"Both teams were very flat," said Western head coach Stephan Barrie. "We just executed a little better,  but I expected a much better game from both teams."

Fifth-year player Amanda Anderson (Chatham, Ont.) poured in 19 points to move into third place overall in OUA career scoring. The Mustangs point guard now has 1,611 career points and has a chance to to move into second place overall with at least 14 points Saturday night Feb. 20  when the same two teams meet again in Thunder Bay as both teams play their final regular season game

The Mustangs have clinched second place overall and will host a OUA West semifinal next Saturday Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. at Alumni Hall.
