Day Two

WATERLOO, Ont. – It was another successful day on the courts for the Western Mustangs men's and women's squash teams on Saturday, with both teams putting in strong showings on the second day of the OUA Squash Championships.

The women's team was certainly the busier of the two Western squads with 18 matches on the day. First up for the purple and white were the McMaster Marauders before squaring off with Brock later in the day. Just as they had against the host Waterloo Warriors on Friday the Mustangs made a clean sweep of both Brock and McMaster, winning each match by a 3-0 score. On Saturday evening the Mustangs took on Queen's and suffered their first losses of the tournament, falling to the Gaels in five of six matches. Holly Delavigne claimed Western's sole win over Queen's, defeating Heather White 3-2.

On the men's side of the bracket the Mustangs started off their day with a series of matches against Queen's, with Western taking all six. With group play concluded the Mustangs broke off into individual flights, with James Van Staveren, Kale Wilson, Cory Shannon, Nick Guest, Matt Sharpe, and Krishan Rana all advancing to the semi-finals of their respective flights.

The third and final day of the OUA Squash Championships takes place tomorrow in Waterloo.
