London, ON – Many of Western's teams were in action this past weekend, with recaps and results below.
 
BASEBALL
 
The Baseball team travelled to Windsor to partake in the OUA West Qualifier this weekend, going 1-2. The team secured a 14-3 win against Windsor on Friday, before dropping their second Friday game 2-5 to Laurier. The team closed out the weekend with a 4-15 loss to Waterloo on Saturday.

SOFTBALL
 
The Softball took home a silver medal this past weekend in the 2022 CCSA Softball National Championship. The Mustangs finished first in their pool, before beating UBCO Heat in the semi-finals. Western fell 9-0 in the gold medal game to St. Clair.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
 
The Women's Tennis team took home the OUA Women's Championship Banner this weekend, with a 4-3 victory on Sunday against Toronto securing the win.

MEN'S TENNIS
 
The Men's Tennis team was also crowned OUA Champions this weekend, the fourth straight season for the Mustangs. It was also a 4-3 victory against Toronto that secured the victory for the purple and white.

FOOTBALL
 
The Football team travelled to Toronto on Friday to face the Varsity Blues, the first meeting since 2015. The Mustangs took home a convincing 56-21 win.

WOMEN'S RUGBY
 
The Rugby regular season came to an end Friday night for the Mustangs after a 69-3 loss to Guelph here in London.

MEN'S RUGBY
 
The Men's Rugby team travelled to Peterborough on Saturday for an afternoon match-up against the Trent Excalibur's. The Mustangs secured a 45-12 win and look to carry the winning momentum to Waterloo where they face Laurier on October 15^th.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER
 
The Women's Soccer team played host to the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday afternoon for their last regular season home game, ultimately falling 3-2.

MEN'S SOCCER

FIELD HOCKEY
 
The Field Hockey team took home a win and a tie this weekend in their McMaster series.
 
The team hosted McMaster on Friday, claiming a 3-1 win, before travelling to Hamilton on Saturday where the two teams drew 2-2. 
 
MEN'S LACROSSE
 
The Men's Lacrosse team travelled to Brock on Friday and claimed a close 7-6 victory.

The purple and white then played host to Toronto for a Saturday night match-up, where they claimed their second victory of the weekend, this time 11-6. The 'Stangs are now riding a four-game win streak.
