Ottawa, ON – The Mustangs are coming home with gold from the OUA Golf Championship for the second straight year as Rylie Grogan held on to secure the individual win in the Women's division and the Women's team took silver at the tournament in Ottawa.

"We are super happy for Rylie that she finally got her individual win in her 5th year on the team." said Mustangs teammate Lexie McKay "Going wire to wire is really impressive and we are so proud that the win is staying at Western!"

Grogan held a 1 stroke lead (+1) through the first round of the tournament and went on to shoot a second round 80 which gave her a 2 stroke win at +9 for the event. With the win she takes home the gold medal & the Judy McCrae Trophy as individual champion.

"Given that there were only 3 of us competing rather than 4, so every score and every shot mattered." said McKay "Our motto of the weekend was "next shot" instead of reminiscing on past shots. Coach Charles (Fitzsimmons) said that to us all weekend. We were all proud to finish on the podium."

McKay shot a first round 82 and followed that up with a 75 in the second round. The team trio was rounded out with Ciara Tully-Cornic who opened the event shooting an 84 and then an 87 in her first OUA Championship.

"Rylie and I are so proud of Ciara as it is her first OUAs and still greatly contributed to our team score to pull off the podium finish." said McKay.

On the men's side, the Mustangs finished in 8th place in the team standings. William McHenry was the top individual finisher for Western, he finished in a tie for 13th with a 2 day total of 152 (+8). Ty Stansfield finished tied for 30th with at +12, Luca Ferrara shot a 2nd round 73 on route to finishing tied for 33rd, Riley Mathieson was + 14 for the event and finished tied for 42nd and Conall Mullarkey rounded out the Mustangs team finishes with a +21 in a tie for 60th.
