Box Score Guelph, ON - The Mustangs battled Guelph for the second weekend in a row on Sunday in their first road game of 2023, walking away with a scoreless tie.
"It was a good effort from everyone today. We are moving in the right direction and improving every day." said Mustangs midfielder Daniel Oshana "An important point to take from one of the top teams which puts us in a good position within the standings. We are content taking 4 out of 6 points against Guelph."

Within 3 minutes of the game starting, Guelph was putting the pressure on Western with a shot by Parmpreet Johal which was saved by Dino Bontis. Parmpreet then took a corner kick for Guelph two minutes later but was unable to find the back of Western's net.Â

Western's Grant Takacs shot at the goal in the 12th minute but was unable to score. Â

The score at half time was 0-0 with neither team able to find the back of the net.Â

In the second half of the game, both teams were eager to score but unfortunately neither able to find the back of the net. At the end of the game, Western had four shots to Guelph's five showing just how closely fought this game was.Â

The game ended with the score 0-0 with both Western and Guelph each taking home a point from the game.Â
"We always look to get 3 points from the teams that we play but our team worked extremely hard today and against a difficult team like Guelph we can't be too upset." said Mustangs defender Brandon Miranjie "We are excited to take this momentum into training and our game against Windsor."
