Hamilton, ON – The Mustangs Women's Cross Country team continues to show why they are a force in the OUA & U SPORTS rankings this season with another win at the Marauder Bayfront Open in Hamilton this weekend.
Western took top spot in the team standings with a total of 37 points. This included having the 4
th, 6
th, 7
th, 9
th & 11
th place finishers as their scoring five runners. The second place team was Queen's with 80.
Sandra Guga was the top individual finisher for Western in 4
th overall. Her final time was 28:52.1.
On the men's side the Mustangs finished in 3
rd place with 67 points, the scoring runners were 6
th, 9
th, 14
th, 16
th and 22
nd. Guelph was 2
nd with 55 points and Queen's took top spot with 34 points.
Western's top individual finisher was Ben Fox, finishing in 6
th place at 24:54.6.
"Both teams ran well and looking forward to our two week build up to get ready for OUA's in North Bay." Said Mustangs Head Coach Guy Schultz.
The OUA Championship is set for October 26
th in North Bay. Western has been amongst the top teams on both the Men's & Women's side most of the year and are hoping to finish the OUA season strong.
