Kingston, ON – The Mustangs Women's Fencing team finished 2nd in a close battle with the Toronto Varsity Blues at the 2025 OUA Championship.
Day one of the event saw the Mustangs pick up a pair of gold medals as Elizabeth Upton won the individual foil event and Jasnoor Kalsi won the individual sabre. Western also got a pair of bronze medals from Robin Wang in individual foil and Stephanie Shen got the third place spot in the individual epee.
Day two of the championship is the team relay competition. The Mustangs Foil team of Amber Briar, Lydia Tzianas, Elizabeth Upton & Robin Wang took the gold medal with over McMaster who finished 2nd and Toronto rounded out the podium in 3rd. The Mustangs (Felicity Mei, Tara Shazadeh, Stephanie Shen, Allyson Wu) finished 2nd in Team Epee while Toronto won the event and Carleton was 3rd. Western finished 4th in the team sabre event with Toronto, Queen's & Ottawa taking the podium.
Louisa Lewicki was added to the OUA All-Stars list at the conclusion of the event.
