Waterloo, ON – The Mustangs Men's Fencing team finished 3rd at the 2026 OUA Championship this weekend.
The two-day competition saw Western make a big push in point totals in the team relays on the second day, propelling them to a podium spot.
On day one, Western sat 5th with 45 points. The top finisher of the day was Jason Park, who finished 2nd in Men's Foil individually. Johnathan Chai was the top finisher in epee, finishing 5th.
On day two, the Mustangs defeated McMaster 45-35 in the bronze medal match to take a ten-point lead for third place in the overall standings.
Western added 61 points, finishing 2nd in the epee relay and rounded out the team relays with a 6th place finish in sabre, adding another 25 points.
In total, the Mustangs finished with 181 points and a team bronze medal.
