Fourth quarter surge aids Western to victory

WATERLOO, Ont. - Katelyn Leddy (London, Ont.) and Amanda Anderson (Chatham, Ont.) combined for 42 points as the Western Mustangs outscored the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks 18-10 in the fourth quarter en route to 70-67 win on Jan. 30.

Western improves to 12-4 on the season.

Anderson finshed with 19 points and four assists along with three steals, while Leddy had a game-high 23 points, adding five rebounds in the victory.

Lauren Parkes (London, Ont.) added 11 points and six rebounds, but committed eight turnovers.

The second-place Mustangs travel to St. Catharines, Ont., to face the third place Brock Badgers (10-6) on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. before returning home to host Guelph on Saturday Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at Alumni Hall in the annual Jam the Gym game - wear purple and get in for free.
