ORLANDO, Fl. – The Mustangs co-ed cheer team was well represented on the Team Canada roster as they headed south to compete in the International Cheer World Championships.
 
With the winning tradition of the Mustangs behind them, Team Canada placed third overall to mark the first podium finish for Canada since having transitioned into the most elite competition category (Premier Division) five years ago.
 
Ten current or former Mustangs competed in red and white, while two more were members of coaching staff. Ultimately, athletes and coaches affiliated with Western's program made up almost half of the Canadian contingent.
 
Jordan Im, Max Pfeiffer, Spencer Andrews, Brandon Edmonds, Kurt Ford, Zach Bethel, Laura Gillies, Hannah Roberts, Shae Book, and Natalie Wong were all present as athletes, while current head coach David-Lee Tracey and purple and white alum Nicole Meyer-Pugh attended as coaches.
