Chris Hannebury named Head Coach of Mustangs Men's Squash

London, ON - The Western Mustangs today announced Chris Hannebury as the Men's Squash team's new Interim Head Coach.
 
Chris graduated from Western in 2009 with a BA in Kinesiology. He later completed a Master's degree in Education specializing in Coaching Studies at the University of Victoria. Chris has coached for 8 years in Victoria at St. Michaels School and over the past year was coaching in Turks and Caicos. Chris is the owner of a company, Serious Squash and has won a junior and senior Canadian National title.

Western legend, Jack Fairs had a major impact in Chris' life and he is looking forward to continuing Jack's tradition with the current team. Chris also works at the London Squash & Fitness Club.
 
"I'm excited for Chris to join our team, I am confident he will do a fantastic job guiding the men's squash program." said Stephanie White, Mustangs Director Sport. "Chris is supported by a strong alumni group and together they will continue the legacy of excellence established in this program."
 
Western would like to thank James Van Staveren for his commitment to Mustangs Men's Squash and his work as Head Coach last season. Under James leadership the men won their 37th consecutive OUA Squash Championship. Thank you James for your time and commitment to our student-athletes.
